When healthcare becomes personal

Healthcare wasn't on my radar until Dr. Aju Mathew walked into YE Stack with a problem that kept him up at night: patients were dying from preventable medical errors, and the solution seemed frustratingly simple.

Dr. Aju had been practicing oncology for years, watching the same pattern repeat itself. Patients would come in for their scheduled appointments, everything would seem fine, but then something would go wrong between visits. By the time they reported severe symptoms, it was often too late for optimal intervention. The missing piece wasn't better doctors or advanced technology. It was real-time patient feedback.

When YE Stack decided to explore this opportunity and brought me in as a co-founding EiR in March 2023, I initially approached it like any other product challenge. Build something elegant, make it user-friendly, get adoption. But healthcare turned out to be completely different from anything I'd worked on before.

What It Is

Meeval Care is a patient-centric healthcare platform that transforms reactive care into proactive partnership. We enable patients to seamlessly track symptoms and medications while giving clinicians real-time dashboards with AI-powered insights to detect patterns and intervene early. The goal: making patient engagement so simple it works through messaging apps, removing friction while enabling the early interventions that save lives.

Why I Did It

When YE Stack brought me in as co-founding EiR to help Dr. Aju Mathew build this solution, I saw the chance to work on something where the impact was measured in lives saved, not just user metrics. Healthcare operates reactively. We built the platform to make it proactive.

The Problem

Medical errors from lack of timely patient feedback cause preventable fatalities. By the time patients report severe symptoms during scheduled appointments, it's often too late for optimal intervention. Patients feel disconnected from their own care journey, especially in chronic diseases like cancer, while clinicians lack the real-time data needed to spot concerning patterns before they become emergencies.

The Solution

A simple yet powerful platform with two core features: patients log symptoms and medications easily through familiar interfaces (messaging apps, SMS), while clinicians get a real-time dashboard with AI-powered insights. We remove all friction from daily patient engagement while enabling the early interventions that prevent complications and hospitalizations.

Progress So Far

Successfully piloted with Dr. Aju's patients and several other doctors, caught patterns that prevented complications and validated the concept with industry leaders. The product works. But the business model in India's current healthcare infrastructure isn't viable. We've strategically paused while seeking capital and partnerships for entry into US/EU markets where preventive care is reimbursed and the infrastructure supports patient-centric tools.
